Are you feeling stretched thin while attempting to lead in every aspect of your life—your day-to-day responsibilities, your business, and your personal commitments? In the fast pace of juggling both personal and professional demands, it’s easy to fall into the trap of overcommitment, burnout, and reactivity.

Last week, I gathered with 22 purpose-driven leaders for a day of meaningful transformation at the Sustainable Leadership Retreat, where we dove deep into practices that help leaders break free from overwhelm and cultivate resilience for long-term success—both at work and in life.

Key Insights from Our Retreat:

Two of the most impactful exercises we explored were the Ratios Exercise and Uncovering Unconscious Success Contracts. These practices offer clarity in how we show up as leaders, whether in business or personal life, and where we might be out of alignment with our true values.

🔍 The Ratios Exercise: Where Are You Out of Balance?

This exercise help to reflect on five crucial areas, asking key questions like:

  • How often do you say YES vs. NO?

  • How often do you find yourself GIVING HELP vs. ASKING FOR HELP?

  • Are you doing more FOR OTHERS or FOR YOURSELF?

  • Are you REACTING to situations, or CREATING outcomes?

  • How often do you KEEP YOUR WORD to SELF vs BREAK WORD to SELF?

These simple but revealing questions shined a light on imbalances, helping leaders realign their energy and time with what matters most in both their personal and professional lives.

✍️ Uncovering and Rewriting Success Contracts:

Many of us operate under unspoken success contracts —beliefs or assumptions we’ve internalized, often without realizing. These can drive us toward burnout and misaligned goals, whether it’s constantly putting others first or believing success requires non-stop work. At the retreat, we worked to identify these limiting beliefs and rewrote our success contracts to reflect our true values—commitments to well-being, clarity, and leadership grounded in authenticity. Imagine what could shift for you if you recognized and released these hidden barriers.

And yes, let’s not forget about the incredible, metabolically supportive meal prepared by Chef Ikaika—a nourishing highlight that supported our focus and vitality throughout the day!

What Participants Are Saying:

"This retreat was the highlight of my year. Our time together brought clarity to my projects and fire to my passion."

How Balanced is Your Leadership?

Take a moment to reflect on your leadership ratios. Are you saying "yes" to everyone but yourself? How often do you feel reactive rather than proactive? With just a few intentional shifts, you can foster resilience, creativity, and long-term success—both in your business and personal life—without sacrificing your well-being.

Here’s to leading with strength, clarity, and grace. 🌿
